(SKU: LSB10024C5) The Sigiriya lion's paws sculpture's ruins are accessible via the staircase that is surrounded by mirrors. The entryway to the royal palace is where "Sigiriya Lion Rock" got its name. The original entrance was through a huge lion-head-shaped brick sculpture. Today, all that is left of this sculpture at the base of the rock are its paws. The overwhelming nature of the lion sculpture at the time of his visit is described in a rare poem on the mirror wall of Sigiriya (Sometime between the sixth to thirteenth centuries). Where the mouth of the lion statue would have been where the staircase that ascends to the top of Sigiriya Rock begins. This traditional replica represents the Sigiriya lion's paws.
