Adathoda plant is called Pavatta in Sinhala. It can also be termed as 'trench aid'. The most commonly used name in society is Pavatta. Shrub up to 4 m, 5 m tall. Large simple leaflets dark green. The leaf is shaped like an elongated arrowhead. Branchlets extending upwards on the inner side of the trunk. Inflorescence axillary racemes, white, with rounded green leaflets. Flowering occurs in December. In the fruiting body there are 4-5 seeds with nodules. The leaves of Pavatta plant have very good fertilizer properties. Pavatta is also known as the only plant that does not eat goats. Pavatta plant can be easily grown anywhere by twigs or seeds. In Ayurveda, the Pavatta plant itself is used as a medicine to treat various ailments.

Medicinal uses of Pavatta plant:

    • Relieves asthma.

Asthma is a condition that affects people of all ages, regardless of age. That is, Pavatta plant can be named as another medicine used in Ayurveda to cure asthma. To do this, mix pavatta leaf juice, ginger, ginger and red onion juice, put it on a stove and pack it in a bottle and drink one teaspoon daily in the morning and evening. Also put pavatta juice and honey in a fresh pot and leave it in the sun for twenty one days and use one teaspoon three times a day to cure asthma.

Relief can also be obtained by taking the panchanga of the Pavatta plant, mixing it with chopped garlic, raw ginger, boiled sesame oil and rubbing it on the chest of the patient suffering from asthma. In addition, it is beneficial to crush the leaves of Pavatta in hot air and drink one teaspoon at a time in hot water.

    • Relieves anemia.

When the production of hemoglobin in the body is low, anemia occurs. That is, Pavatta plant can be used as a medicine to alleviate this condition. That is to say, the anemia can be alleviated by decoction of the Pavatta Panchanga and drinking it with honey.

    • Relieves urinary tract infections.

Pavatta can be used as a medicine to treat urinary tract infections such as urinary tract infections such as urinary incontinence. That is to say, the use of Pavatta leaves in a small amount of time as a powdered tea can alleviate urinary tract infections.

    • Relieves fever.

Pavatta is used in Ayurveda as a medicine to relieve fever. That is to say, the fever can be alleviated by taking the flower petals of Pavatta leaves and giving the juice to drink with honey or sugar.

    • Cleanses the lungs.

To cleanse the lungs, you can boil pavatta leaves and inhale the steam to clear the lungs. That is, this treatment is more effective when there are conditions such as the common cold and cough. In addition, the Pavatta panchanga can be evenly mixed with 4 sheets of water and then mixed with 4 sheets of water.

    • Relieves hemorrhoids.

Pavatta can be used as a medicine to treat hemorrhoids that many people suffer from. That is to say, it is better to tie one-fifth of the pavatta with pottani and boil it in the wand and soak the anus.

    • Relieves joint swelling.

Swelling of the body due to arthritis conditions. To relieve such swelling, boiled pavatta leaves or roots can be boiled and rubbed on the affected areas.

    • Cures eczema.

Pavatta has been used as a medicine since ancient times to cure eczema on the skin. That is to say, you can cure eczema by grinding pavatta leaves and raw turmeric and applying it on those places.
